Are You Investing In Fun?

Just had our 11th annual summer party. What a blast! This year several of our team members stepped up to organize the event. It's amazing what happens when you give your people the freedom and flexibility to be creative. What they came up with was an “Olympics” theme. The company was divided up into 4 teams competing with each other in events such as home run derby, ladder ball, egg toss and horse shoes. The finale was a “Rap off” where team members created a rap about working at AG Salesworks, then competed by performing it live. The winner took home a cash prize and, of course, bragging rights. Absolutely hilarious! What a great way to have some laughs while team building.

It has always been our philosophy to create a company culture where our team looks forward to coming to work with like minded professionals working toward a common vision. As I spoke with our team while competing at various events or enjoying a burger or beer, I was thrilled to hear from everyone how much they enjoy working at AG Salesworks.

Happy employees and high morale is a very powerful component to any company's success. It can make a good company great, and make a great company even better. Positive energy is contagious, it brings others up and just makes it more fun to be at work. Happy employees are more productive which makes the customer experience better, thus creating more profitable engagements. Those profits can be reinvested in the company in all areas from better coffee, (we just installed an espresso machine), technology, professional development programs, and of course more fun. It’s an upward spiral where everyone wins.

My advice, if you are not investing in fun, start. If you are do more of it, you will see the returns in all areas including the bottom line.
