Is The Grass Always Greener On The Other Side?

Sales Prospecting Perspectives is pleased to bring you guest entry from one of our BDRs, Ian Jutras.

You know the saying. “The grass is always greener on the other side”, well, not necessarily.

About 10 months ago I left AG Salesworks to pursue an opportunity at another company. Before I left, I wrote the entire company an email explaining what a great experience I had at AG. It turns out that my email made it into a blog written by our CEO Paul Alves, What Do You Give Your Employees?

Paul touches base about how current and past employees at AG have enjoyed their time and experience at AG. I can certainly attest to that as I realized that the new company I moved to wasn’t for me. I felt my previous employer could not match the company culture I felt at AG. There was not a sense of team comradery or lively spirit to the place. About 4 months after leaving AG, I rejoined the team and couldn’t be happier.

Without a doubt, the reason I came back was the culture and the people. AG has established a culture unlike any other company I have worked at. Not only are the people I work with professional co-workers, they are also friends of mine. AG regularly has company wide get-to-gethers, including the summer outing, Thursday Beer Nights, and company cookouts (like we are having this afternoon). These type of events help create a culture that is very desirable to work at.

What we do can be hard, day in and day out. AG gives us something to look forward to everyday and something to work for. We want to work hard and make our management happy, but most importantly our clients happy. When it comes down to it, I have fun working here, my quality of life is better because of it and I work hard so that we can continue to keep the culture the way it is. I believe that the company culture here at AG drives our success.

So how is your organization proving that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side?
