New England Weather: Great Preparation For Sales Success
A year in sales prospecting is much like New England weather. Seasons change and so do trends. When I think about my life as a New Englander, I think about the April blizzard of 96’, missing countless days of school for 50+ inches of snow, driving to UMass and watching the leaves change along the Mass Pike and feeling the “ah ha moment” of sitting on a beach. These feelings are sort of like sales. You give give and give…shoveling, salting, and raking, and after the work is done you let out a long sigh. At AG, we are familiar with what it takes to be a New Englander, but also what it takes to be in this business. Some of the challenges we have faced this year are:
- Meeting our sales quota and bringing in new business that can grow here.
- Hiring the right individuals with the skill set to learn and develop.
- Crafting a Management Staff that can work together as a well oiled machine to deliver on expectations and assist our BDR staff in developing professionally.
- Getting our story to the right people. Marketing ourselves as the professionals we are in the industry of Teleprospecting.
These necessities in business can be as challenging and tedious as shoveling and raking… but effective if done by the right people and groups. Currently, we work with over 30 Technology Companies assisting them with high net worth pipeline opportunities, data cleansing, lead generation and market research. These relationships were developed from the hard work of our outside sales staff and their persistence in spite of the odds.
Where do our leads come from? Well we don’t have a leaf blower so the success is credited to a team of successful and driven individuals. AG’s Marketing team and their diligence in sharing our thoughts and success; with Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, Tumblr etc. is a huge influence in getting to that AG “Ah Ha moment" when working with Institutions we can truly help. We are here to grow our business with the right people and be a true extension of their inside sales and marketing team. The relationships we have developed and referral opportunities we have come across, often come from the Management and Business Development staff. We have a company culture that is supportive, fun and respectful.
Everyone here has a goal to exceed expectations, both personal and of our clients. We are that appropriate blend of “hard work and long sigh”. We strive to overcome objections and ultimately deliver on the expectations we have set forward. We know that in order to be successful in this business we will have days that feel like a storm and days that feel like a breeze but the ultimate goal is to work hard so we can play hard. With a blend of senior BDRs and new faces, a growing presence in the Industry and a focused sales and management staff, we have what we need for the sunny day feeling and 100% satisfaction. Hopefully it will be a great summer.
